Shelby's First Easter

This was Shelby's first Easter! Although I knew she would not remember anything about it I still felt the need to make it super special for her. I want to some day show her the pictures and tell her what we did to celebrate. Jason and I decided to explain to her (I know this sounds a little ridiculous!) what the symbols of Easter mean. So he told her about how the egg is a symbol of the new life that people can have through a relationship with God that Jesus made possible through his death on the cross, that the cross is a symbol that reminds us of Jesus' death on the cross, and so on. Then we read the story of Christ's death and resurrection from the Bible.
I also got Shelby a little pink Easter basket which Jason would not stay out of! I caught him eating the candy out of her Easter eggs and he told me that she would never know or care...which is true but beside the point! LOL

Shelby enjoying Easter...her way.
We also had a party to celebrate the day. I made tons of food and Jason and I both invited some friends over.
We had a wonderful Easter and hope y'all did too! :)

Thank you Jesus for suffering to save me! I am certainly not worthy.

Matthew 28 -The Resurrection

1After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
3
His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
4
The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6
He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
7
Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
9
Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
10
Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."
