Family Day

We spent the afternoon together at Sea World San Antonio. We saw the Azule and One Ocean Shamu shows. Jason took Shelby on the Shamu roller coaster. We also visited the dolphins. Tons of fun!

The other morning I was doing a yoga video. Shelby was nagging I encouraged her to do the yoga with me since she was bored. She did and she's good at it! Cutie!

Day at home

Made a yummy breakfast of: local, farm fresh eggs, sprouted grain toast with raw, unsealed almond butter/corn syrup free strawberry jam/fresh strawberries, sliced tomato

I borrowed a huge pressure cooker from Mer to see how I like cooking with it.
Today I tried my hand at Caramelized Carrot Soup. It was fast, easy, and so good! Tonight or tomorrow I'm gonna try something with some lamb I got straight from the farmer. Can't wait!

The pic of S standing by the fridge is when she was putting a sticker on get reading chart.

See my shiny fridge? S and I cleaned it today.

Here is S posing in front of the table with her playdough creations. We used a mold to make Hello Kitty and a tea party set.

Lastly, here is the recipe I made this afternoon. Except I added coconut flakes and ground flax seed. It doesn't taste like raw cookie dough and Jason likes it too! I love finding good way to curb our sweet tooth!

Weekend with Pappy and Noma

We spent the weekend in Pearsall. We grilled steaks and jalapeño poppers Sat night.
Then on Sunday we just relaxed.

Shelby had so much fun!!! She...
~Rode Thunder
~Pappy took her for a spin on the new tractor and she sat on her very own "Buddy Seat". Pappy ordered it especially for her!
~Played with the dogs (especially lil Amigo!!!)
~Played the Wii (yoga) with Dan
~Ran around the yard endlessly
~Climbed a tree
....and more!

Visiting Uncle Joe

My Uncle Joe was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It's unbeatable. We were in a daze for a few days and now everyone is just trying to make the most of the time he has.

He's only seen Shelby a few times and last time was 2yrs ago on Christmas Eve.
I took her out to their house. We sat and visited with Aunt Margaret and Uncle Joe for a while. Shelby liked all their cats and talked a hundred miles minute!
I know Uncle Joe was overjoyed to see Shelby. It seemed as if we was enjoying just watching her play.

After our visit we moseyed over to see Grandmother and Jim. Uncle Tom came over too. It was such a nice evening! A cold front was blowing in so it was nice and cool. We sat out in the yard shootin' the breeze.

See the picture of the picture? Can you guess who that might be?
Mer and UT!!!! They look like they could be dating! Mer looks so young.

Spring in SA

Jason is currently on a DTA (domestic temp assignment) with Boeing. He's working in San Antonio. So here we are...back in TX! The DTA ends May 31st but we will looks like we may be back in TX sometime in June for another DTA.

Yesterday Jason was working, as he does most Saturdays and Sundays, so Shelby and I entertained ourselves by checking out the Pearl Brewery Farmer's Market.

We both enjoyed browsing. It kinda felt like we were back in Seattle...there were hippies, bikers, dog walkers, preppy people, gays..... I got some great local/organic food! Raw local honey, onions, kale, free range eggs, and strawberries (see the pic of S-she couldn't wait to dig in).
They had live music which we loved! Shelby has her eye on the bakery stand...I was a "mean mom" and said no to the delectable pastries. I thought the yummy, ripe berries were sweet enough. :)

It was a sunny, breezy, cool day! A perfect day with my girl :)
